Stages of Constructions Explained

There are different steps of the construction process that you must have to follow to get done with your project. Every stage of construction, from simplest to the most complex, has its significance so you cannot overlook any of it. You should be aware of the details of each stage to make sure that you complete your construction project in the allotted time successfully.

Here are all stages of construction explained.

  • Cleaning or Clearing of Site

The first and the most crucial stage of construction is cleaning of the site. There shouldn’t be dust, debris, or any other thing that can cause hurdle in the construction process. So, it is better if you hire the professional cleaners and get the site cleared before the construction. Moreover, you can carry out soil testing depending upon the nature of that land.

  • Planning

Planning is the backbone of any construction project. It is when you pay heed to every critical factor that is going to affect your construction in any possible way. You must develop a plan properly to make sure that it meets the objectives and goals you have set. You can take a team on board that defines the work for each member by identifying the strategies and resources. You should create an outline of the construction process and plan other activities that you need to execute in this phase.

  • Concept & Design

After making the plan, you create a concept followed by design. You should take the help of an architect at this stage to ensure that everything is on point. You can move to the next stage after you are sure that your design is stable and structurally sound enough.

  • Obtain Building Permits

You need to get the building permits at different phases to keep your construction project going smoothly. If you hire a professional construction firm, it will take care of all the permits that you must have before starting the construction process.

  • Execution Phase

It is the most critical construction stage as now you are all set to execute your plan. However, it will help if you communicate with the project manager in detail at each stage of the implementation. Each member of the team will then submit their progress reports to see if there are any adjustments that you must make.

  • Monitoring Phase

Monitoring is another vital stage of the construction process in which you can measure the progress and performance of the project. It will help you detect if there are any loopholes in the process. If you feel like the project is not running according to the plan, you can make the changes that are required. Moreover, you should monitor the painting, metalwork, woodwork, and all the finishing works at this stage.

  • Completion Phase

At this stage, the manager will finalize everything, e.g. checking the final touches, stopping the supplies, and cleaning the surroundings. He would also do the final inspection of the building before handing it over to its owner.
